Sub-Fertility Centre – A Specialized Service:

Conceiving a Baby is a happy occasion that many couples look forward to. However, many couples agonize when the wife is unable to conceive for a number of years. This may be due to problems relating to the wife, such as ovulation, conceiving, carrying the pregnancy to term or a combination of any of them. On the other hand, it may be due to low sperm count of the husband.

At the Centre, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) facility is available, which helps to overcome the problems relating to the wife conceiving and/or the husband’s sperm count. IUI involves depositing a concentrated amount of husband’s sperm (or sperm from a donor) directly into the wife’s uterus after carrying out the necessary precautionary measures – this gives a much higher chance of the wife conceiving. Prior to carrying out IUI, the wife will be given the needed fertility drugs.

Dr R S Jeyendran, a US based leading specialist in Andrology (semen quality improvement, sperm processing, etc), provides advice regularly to the Sub-Fertility Team of MCH.

Diabetes Centre – A Specialised Service:

Dr Aravinthan, a senior consultant, is leading the treatment service aided by well-trained and experienced nurses. The Centre carries out routine blood and urine tests and provides corresponding treatments, as well as screening for various diabetic complications that affect eye sight, heart, kidney, etc. The screening even detects asymptomatic diabetes – Type 1 & 2. The Centre promotes a healthy lifestyle to reduce the chances of people getting afflicted with diabetes or controlling the affliction.

Elders’ Rooms:

14 rooms with en-suite bathrooms are available for individual elders or couples to occupy. They have been built to a high standard and the resident elders get round-the-clock personal and medical care.
